This Privacy Policy describes how PuroPlate, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("PuroPlate," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and shares information across puroplate.com and related applications (collectively, the "Platform"), regardless of whether you are visiting as a prospective Consumer, a prospective or active Supplier, or simply browsing.
This Policy applies to everyone who interacts with the Platform, including:
The information collected from guest-checkout Consumers, account-holder Consumers, and paid-Subscription Consumers is largely the same — a Subscription adds paid features on top of an existing account rather than collecting a new category of data. Section 2.4 below covers all three together and notes the differences where they exist.
Note that basic dietary/avoidance preferences are already collected today at the waitlist stage (Section 2.2); what's future functionality is the full severity-tagged avoidance profile, live ordering, and payments. Sections describing that future functionality are marked "FUTURE FUNCTIONALITY" and will apply once it is available.
At the waitlist stage, we do not collect a severity level (severe, moderate, or low) for these preferences, and we do not collect payment information. Severity levels are added once you create a full account, as described in Section 2.4 below.
Depending on your relationship to the Platform, we use the information described above to:
We do not sell personal information for money. Depending on context, we may share information with:
California and certain other state privacy laws require us to disclose, by category, the personal information we have disclosed and the categories of recipients, as well as any personal information "sold" or "shared" (as those terms are defined under applicable law) over the preceding 12 months. The tables below reflect our current data practices and will be kept up to date as our marketing, analytics, and ad-tech stack evolves.
| Category of Personal Information | Categories of Recipients |
|---|---|
| Identifiers (name, email, phone, address) | Customer relationship management and email/marketing platform providers; payment processors and delivery/logistics partners, once those features are live |
| Commercial information (orders, products viewed/purchased) | Payment processors and fulfillment/delivery partners, once those features are live |
| Avoidance profile information — basic category-level preferences (no severity) are collected today via the waitlist form (Section 2.2); full severity-tagged avoidance profiles are future functionality (Section 2.4) | Used internally to generate a Consumer's personalized rating by comparison against product-level PuroScore; not disclosed to Suppliers or other third parties beyond the order-level product information described in Section 4 |
| Internet or network activity (Usage Data, e.g., IP address, browser/device data) | Analytics and marketing platform providers |
We use retargeting advertising: third-party advertising and analytics partners help us show you ads for PuroPlate, including ads based on products or pages you have viewed, on other websites and platforms you visit. This activity may constitute a "sale" or "share" of personal information under CCPA/CPRA and similar state laws, even though no money changes hands. We have disclosed the following categories of personal information for this purpose over the preceding 12 months:
| Category of Personal Information | Categories of Recipients |
|---|---|
| Identifiers (name, email) | Advertising and marketing platform partners |
| Commercial information (order and purchase history) | Advertising and marketing platform partners |
| Internet or network activity (browsing and usage data, e.g., products or pages viewed) | Advertising and marketing platform partners |
As stated in Section 5.3 below, avoidance-profile information is not included in any category disclosed for advertising or marketing purposes and is not used for ad targeting.
Avoidance profile information (including items related to allergies, medical sensitivities, religious practices, or other personal characteristics) is treated by PuroPlate as "sensitive personal information" under CCPA/CPRA and similar state laws, once that data is collected as part of the full marketplace (future functionality). We do not currently use avoidance-profile information to target advertising.
We use cookies and similar technologies, including third-party analytics tools, to operate the Platform and understand how it is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the relevant function — for example, waitlist and supplier-application information until you ask us to delete it or the relevant program concludes, and account, order, and avoidance profile information for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for recordkeeping, tax, legal, or fraud-prevention purposes (future functionality, once accounts exist).
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email we send, or by contacting us directly. Once accounts exist, you will be able to access and update your account and avoidance profile information directly within your account settings.
We offer the following rights to all visitors and users, regardless of where you live, subject to certain exceptions. Some of these rights are stated using the specific terms used in the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), since that law currently provides the most detailed framework of this kind, but we apply them to everyone who uses the Platform, not only California residents. If you are a resident of a state with its own comprehensive privacy law (such as Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, or others), you may also have additional or differently-worded rights under that state's law; we intend to honor verifiable requests consistent with whichever law applies to you.
You may exercise these rights by contacting us using the details in Section 13 below. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and you may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, subject to our ability to verify that authorization.
As described in Section 5.2 above, we use retargeting advertising, which may constitute a "sale" or "share" of personal information under applicable law. You may opt out of this activity at any time by contacting us at the email below. If you visit our Site with the Global Privacy Control opt-out preference signal enabled, we will automatically treat this as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for the device and browser you use to visit the Site.
The Platform is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect the information we collect, including relying on PCI-compliant payment processors for payment data once live. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
PuroPlate is currently available for deliveries in the U.S. only.
We may update this Policy as the Platform evolves, including as new features launch. We will post the updated Policy here with a new Effective Date, and will provide additional notice for material changes where required by law.
